"FASHION FOR LIFE CAMPAIGN" LAUNCHES ACROSS THE US:

Imagine a world where children sleep on empty stomachs; imagine if your 6 year old child would have to walk over 5 miles everyday to get to a “shed” called school; imagine your child not able to sit through class because he or she did not eat last night; imagine that he or she would have to leave school early, risking their education, to sell fruits and goods at the market, just so their family can eat one solid meal for the day; just imagine living a life of no hope or even second chances?

This is the story of many everyday African children and their parents who struggle to give them the best life possible.

WHO WE ARE:
Adassa-Adumori Foundation, Inc. mission is to develop and support sustainable projects that create significant positive change in children and families who are growing up in circumstances of social and economic disadvantages in 3rd world countries, one community at a time.

While many stories have evolved from the heart of Africa, this is a story of an African princess who after 23 years of living outside of her community; returns to “repair the bridge.” It is a story of hope and new beginnings for underprivileged communities in 3rd world countries and a call to action across the globe to reach out and save lives.

The Adassa – Adumori Foundation is a non-for-profit organization established by Princess Fumi Ogunleye Hancock, with advisory support from her parents, Prince & Princess Ademola Ogunleye, the reigning King of Emure - Ekiti, a Yoruba tribe in the Western region of Africa- King Emmanuel Adebayo, Ms Yolanda Shields, Vice President of Adassa, Inc. and other well wishers both in Africa and the US.

Though Dr  Fumi is of royal descent, she is aware that the issue of poverty is a global problem which deserves a global solution. We acknowledge that it indeed takes a village to raise a child”. In this spirit, we are extending our hands to our global community for assistance.

ADASSA’s Vision is to actively strengthen the community by providing an atmosphere of hope, healing and restoration
.

Our goal is to capture the hearts of people in the US to encourage, empower, support and promote self sufficiency and quality of life in targeted impoverished communities.

The Adassa Team is launching the sales of their
LIMITED EDITION signature tote handbags online. Portions of the proceeds generated from these sales will be funding several programs to alleviate poverty amonst women and children in Africa. February 2008, Princess Fumi went back to her community--Emure Kingdom, in Africa after 23 years of absence, for the coronation of her cousin: Oba Emmanuel Adebayo as the new King.

The experience was exhilirating and beyond words.

Coming January, 2009; she will be taking a group of business men--The Aslan Guild as well as other well wishers: teachers, pastors and leadership in various capacities to help rebuild the community.

Here is a little keepsake from her last visit to Emure Kingdom. (enter our album)   Enter here for a history of Emure Kingdom   The King's Vision for Emure Kingdom

The brand name is derived from the name of a teenager named Hadassah, who became Queen Esther in ancient Persia. The story of this noble queen bears semblance to that of Princess Fumi's mother, Princess Remi, a young orphan who overcame adversity and married an African Prince.
