Emure Kingdom's 1st Proposed Community Library
Emure Kingdom's Proposed 1st Community
Library January 15, 2009, the Adassa Adumori Foundation Team from the US (including business men, women, teachers, pastor and Aslan Guild team) visited Emure Kingdom with Princess Fumi to assess the needs in the community. We strongly believe that "Readers are Leaders." Our trip opened us up to the many disadvantages students face in Africa. There are schools with absolutely no books, yet students are expected to excel in their school work. Since the coronation of the King, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, a library building was
built by the Government of Ekiti State.
However, there is much work to be done. The building is absolutely empty and we
need your help to make the dream of having a functional library happen in this part of Africa.
The community has handed over the building to the Adassa Adumori Foundation to
assist in equipping.
Our Goal is to officially launch the very first community library in Ekiti this Summer 2011---"Readers are Leaders" Campaign. Our immediate needs: Books: (Science, Other Literature, video and audio) Furniture for the Library Generator---95% of the time, there is no electricity in the community
Waterbore-hole---No running water in the compound
Computers and Printers---Laptops and Desktops
Volunteers---who will travel with us to assist in setting up the library. If you
are a landscaper and you feel led to reach out and serve, you are welcome.
