The Giveback TN Initiaitive
Mood:  happy

I take this time to thank everyone who participated in the success of the initiative and welcoming King Emmanuel Adebayo to Tennessee.

It was indeed a precious time for the foundation. We thank God for those who stood up and joined in our cause to bring quality education to Emure.

We forge ahead with the goal of making Emure Kingdom a better place for our children.

I also implore Emure Citizens in diaspora to join me in making dreams come true for our children in Emure kingdom.

From time to time, please look into our website: www.adassafoundation.org for updates on the projects we are working on.

 May God Almighty bless you.

Sincerely,

Princess Fumi

Local Donors Fills the Shelves of a Nigerian Library

This past week, the Tennessean newspaper featured our organization and the people of Tennessee responded! I am so very grateful for all the people who have responded and have donated books to our cause in Emure Kingdom. In just two days, we have received over 1000 books and we are still counting!

It is amazing when people come together to help the less privileged. I am excited when I think of the children's faces as they browse through these books at the new library we are launching in January 2010.

I am also aware that there is much to be done. We still need more books! We need Computers, furnitures etc! More importantly, we need funds to ship these books to Emure Kingdom.

While some may feel that this is no concern of theirs, I beleive that as a global citizen, we are called upon to make an impact in peoples' lives.

Do you know that if 1000 people commit to donating $10, we can get these books to Emure Kingdom?  Please consider being a part of history. Make a difference in the lives of an African Child. They need these books to advance. Education is a sure way out of poverty and we have it in us to make a difference no matter how little.

I want to hear from you. God bless You.

Sincerely,

Princess Fumi Ogunleye Hancock, RN, Ph.D

A Lovely Note from an Emure Indigene - TJ Adepoju
Lastname: Adepoju
Firstname: TJ
State: Lagos state, Nigeria
Comment: Hello there madam, My Name is Adepoju J, son of Adepoju Areje
of Atua family in Emure Ekiti. I saw your profile here and I read it perfectly
well, showing me you are an Emure indigent. Actually I used to think am
the only one concern about this our great community but thank God we
still have someone like you who still borders about their real HOME.
I just want to employ you, if there is anyway to help eradicate poverty in
this our Great kingdom I think the first one is by empowering the youths
that are the future of this community. The last time I was in Emure i saw
young boys and girls that are all supposed to be in school still wandering
about just in the name of financial problem, inability of getting admission
into the school of their choices and all of sorts. Though am just 22yrs old
but I believe in positivity and good change that will channel us all through
to bring back the Glory of this our fatherland. let's lend helping hands out,
let's make the world a better place to live together, let's give meaning to
the lives of the desolates on the street, let's restore lost hopes back to
life, let's treat EMURE -EKITI and her offspring with care and respect it
really worth. and am sure by the time we all wake up to this clarion call
Emure will get a better treat of giving back to the society from who ever
that has being there. We have no other place to call HOME.

Princess Fumi Speaks from the Heart

"Love" written by Merche Moore-EMI Recording Artist & AAF Youth Ambassador

Welcome to Adassa Adumori Foundation Blog. I am delighted to have you here. Thank you for taking the time to check in.

February 2008, my father-Prince Ademola Ogunleye encouraged me to go back home to Africa-Emure Kingdom after 23 years of absence. I geared up to attend a family member's coronation: King Emmanuel Adebayo, who I refer to as my second father and a great mentor.

My visit was sober yet exciting. Exciting to see all the people I left behind a while back and sobering to see all the needs in the community. Moreso, I heard the heart beat of my King and his cry reaching out to Emure in Diaspora to assist in making the community reach its potential. Needless to say, my life has never been the same.

January 2009, I had the opportunity to take some of my US friends to the Community to do some feasibility studies of what is needed. The visit was not only fruitful but beyond my expectation.

Today, I live and breathe thinking about how to make a difference in my Community.

This blog is dedicated to all the African Children and their families, who are striving to be the best they can be. I dedicate this to my parents as well as King Emmanuel Adebayo, the Community Leaders, Emure Kingdom Children and their families.

On this blog, I encourage our friends, families, Emure indigenes to join us as we raise one voice and take action to make Emure Kingdom and Africa a better place fo rour next generation.

Please post your opinions, concerns and recommendations here. While we appreciate your opinions, we ask that we stay focused, and remain respectful.

To this end, I share with you an email I received from an Emure indigene who resides in Lagos, Nigeria.

I was truly blessed by this email and I hope this will encourage you to share your thoughts too.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Princess Fumi Ogunleye Hancock, RN, Ph.D
